Kerry Katona's Agonizing Hospital Dash: 'Screaming in Pain' Leads to a Colitis Diagnosis!

After a terrifying ordeal that saw her rushed to the hospital in agony, Kerry is now opening up about her health journey and a new diagnosis: colitis.
What Exactly is Colitis?
For those unfamiliar, colitis is a medical term that refers to the inflammation of the colon and rectum. The NHS describes it as a long-term condition, meaning it's something that can affect individuals over an extended period. This inflammation can lead to a variety of uncomfortable symptoms, and as Kerry experienced, can manifest as severe abdominal pain.
A Challenging Hospital Stay
Kerry's experience in the hospital was far from ideal. She shared that she spent nearly three days there, with a significant portion of that time being placed in a bed in a hospital corridor due to overcrowding. "I was in a bed in the hallway for a day and a night before I was given a room because of how full the hospital was," she revealed. She was given morphine by paramedics to manage the intense pain and was eventually diagnosed with colitis.
The Decision to Go Private
While expressing gratitude for the care she received from the doctors and nurses, Kerry has made the decision to seek further treatment and answers through private healthcare. "As lovely as the doctors and nurses were, I’m going to have to go private and find out what the hell’s going on," she stated. This decision comes after being sent home with a prescription for morphine and a strict dietary recommendation: to only eat bland food. This is a tough pill to swallow for Kerry, who admits, "which I’m gutted about because I love spicy food!"
Fatigue: A Hidden Symptom?
But here's where it gets interesting: the impact of colitis extends beyond just physical pain. Kerry also revealed that she's been advised to take bed rest because the condition is also linked to fatigue. "My condition is to do with fatigue as well and it does make you feel tired – I could literally go to sleep right now!" she explained. She's noticed this fatigue herself and has now connected it to her colitis diagnosis. This aligns with her earlier social media posts where she mentioned feeling unwell and being hospitalized.
