KTMB New Komuter Timetable 2026: What You Need to Know | Klang Valley Train Updates (2026)

Get ready for a smoother commute! Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) is shaking things up with a brand-new timetable for the KTM Komuter services in the Klang Valley, starting on New Year's Day, 2026. But why the change? It's all about keeping up with the exciting developments of the Klang Valley Double Track Phase II project.

The new timetable will bring significant improvements to two key routes: Tanjung Malim-Pelabuhan Klang-Tanjung Malim and Pulau Sebang-Batu Caves-Pulau Sebang. And here's where it gets interesting: these adjustments are designed to enhance your travel experience!

KTMB promises a smoother train journey, optimized route movements, and more consistent services. But wait, there's more! To cater to the busy bees during peak hours, trains will run every 30 minutes on the Pelabuhan Klang-Kuala Lumpur and Tanjung Malim-Kuala Lumpur routes.

And this is the part most commuters will appreciate: two additional morning services from Tanjung Malim to Pelabuhan Klang, and one to Shah Alam, will be introduced. This means more options for your daily commute, especially for those connecting through KL Sentral.

However, there's a catch. Shuttle bus services for the Subang Jaya-Pelabuhan Klang route and intermediate stations will be discontinued. But is this a fair trade-off for improved train services?

Maintenance work will continue daily, causing temporary disruptions. During these hours, no passenger trains will run between Pelabuhan Klang and KL Sentral. The Pulau Sebang-Batu Caves route will also experience changes, with 30-minute frequencies during peak times.

As the project progresses, the Pelabuhan Klang sector will operate on a single track between Abdullah Hukum Station and Pelabuhan Klang Station until 2029. So, while the journey towards better transportation continues, commuters can expect a more efficient and reliable service.

Stay informed! Check out the new timetable on the KITS STYLE app or KTMB's website. For the latest updates, follow KTMB's social media channels or give them a call. What do you think about these changes? Are they heading in the right direction?
