But here's where it gets controversial... The sharks, particularly Aman Gupta and Anupam Mittal, weren't impressed. Mittal grilled the presenter, questioning the ethics of selling products that target people's vulnerabilities, such as hair loss and aging.
During the pitch, Dr. Das identified himself as a naturopath and aromatherapy specialist, using the title 'doctor.' Anupam Mittal's reaction was immediate and telling, questioning the legitimacy of the title given the presenter's qualifications. Kunal Bahl also pressed for details, asking about sales figures and customer reviews. The influencer's Amazon marketplace ratings were revealed to be 3.5 out of 5, which raised eyebrows, especially when juxtaposed with the reported ₹5 crore worth of inventory sold.
And this is the part most people miss... The discrepancy between the ratings and the sales figures led to skepticism from the sharks. Aman remarked, “Kuch gadbad hai, sir,” while Anupam bluntly asked, “Tum kya kaand karne aaye ho?” (What kind of mess are you here to make?).
